Why laundry runs a turnover, and how to stop it running you.
Laundry is the most common reason a clean overruns. Washing takes as long as it takes, and no amount of hurrying changes it.
If there is a second set, use it. Strip, bag, make the bed with fresh linen, and take the washing away. The machine can run while you are somewhere else.
If you must wash on site, put it on the moment you have stripped the beds — before the bathrooms, before anything. It is the only job that runs without you.
Say if the place has no second set. In-apartment laundry adds real time to a turnover and should be paid for, not absorbed. Thuso prices it separately when a host says a property works that way.
Presentation counts. Guests judge linen by how it looks on the bed, not by how clean it is. Pull it tight. Fold the top sheet down evenly. If a duvet cover has been put on inside out, it is worth the two minutes.
