How to get rated well

What hosts actually score you on.

Updated 2026-10-18

Hosts rate cleans, and those ratings decide which work reaches you. Almost all of it comes down to four things.

Turn up in the window. Being late is the complaint that outranks everything, because a late clean can cost a host a whole booking. If you are going to be late, say so early — a host who knows at nine can do something; a host who finds out at two cannot.

Do the list. Everything ticked, honestly. Hosts do check, and one item ticked without being done costs more trust than leaving it undone and saying so.

Report what you find. A broken thing you mention is a problem shared. The same thing found by a guest is a problem blamed on you.

Leave it looking composed. Straight cushions, folded throws, curtains even. This is the difference between clean and ready, and it is what gets photographed.

Being certified through Thuso training puts you above uncertified cleaners on every list a host sees. It is free, and it is the fastest way to more work.
